Happy Friday! We are having some crazy winter weather! Stay warm this weekend! As we inch toward February, please make sure you are checking your child's grades online frequently. We are halfway through the year already! It is hard to believe!
Thursday, February 1st is an early dismissal day. Please plan accordingly. 

Upcoming Week at School:
Social Science:  This week students will continue the study of chapter 3 on culture and immigration. We will tie this unit into our ELA curriculum as we focus on culture, tradition and where our ancestors and relatives have come from. Look for information about our culture day project coming in a few weeks!



Math: There will be a  unit 4 test on Addition, Subtraction & Measurement on Friday, February 1st. Students have received a unit 4 study guide and it is due on Wednesday, January 30thWe  will have a divide by 5 timed test on Wednesday, January 30th. It is a day earlier in the week due to not having math class on our early dismissal day, Thursday. Then will begin unit 5 on Geometry.

ELA:   We will continue our cross-curricular study of culture and immigration as we read our Communities book. We will also continue our study of nonfiction text structures and strategies. 

The January Reading Log is due on Friday, February 1st. 

Spelling:  Students will receive a new spelling list and should complete three activities using the spelling menu.  The test will be on Friday, February 1st.  The activities will also be due on Friday, February 1st.   

Things to Remember:  
Wednesday 1/30:  There will be a divide by 5 test.  The math unit 4 study guide is due.  
Thursday 1/31:  Students will be dismissed at 11 a.m. 
Friday 2/1:  There will be a spelling test and the three activities are due. The January Reading Log is due today.
