Miss Pellin's Post
April 6th to April 10th

There will be no school this week! School will resume Monday, April 6th. Have a fun, safe spring break!

There are several things to think about during spring break. First, we will be collecting food for the Woodridge Food Pantry. This will begin after spring break. Boxes will be housed in each grade level for donations. The third grade will have a competition to see which class can bring in the most food! Second, the deadline has been extended for the Family Book Club Night!

Are you looking for a good book to read? Is your child looking for a way to stay busy over Spring Break? Join us for Family Book Club Night on Wednesday, April 29th @ 6:30 p.m. Simply go to the Center Cass 66 District website, click on "Prairieview", and read more about this great school event! You can then print a registration form and send it in. Please note that registration has been extended.

If you have any questions, contact Lynda Slinger lslinger@ccsd66.org or Jennifer Cerney jcerney@ccsd66.org.

ISAT testing will continue on Monday and Tuesday, March 9th and 10th. Here is some advice from Principal Schultz.

Parents can play an important role in getting students ready for these tests. Here are suggestions on how parents can help their children prepare for the ISAT:

1. Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep before the tests
2. Make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast the days of the test
3. Let your child know that he or she should take the test seriously and do his or her best
4. Talk to your child about what to do while taking the test, including:
a. Paying attention to directions
b. Asking questions about directions if they are unclear
c. Reading each question carefully
d. Eliminating wrong answers right away, concentrating on remaining choices
e. Double checking answers

Our staff has worked extensively at aligning our curriculum to state standards, and I am confident your children are well prepared and ready to do a great job on this year’s tests. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at any time.
