April 6th to April 10th

Monday, March 30th is the beginning of Spring Break. School will resume on Wednesday, April 8th.


The Thirtieth Week at School:

Science: This week students will be working on google presentations on topics related to space.  

Social Studies: We will continue learning about Chicago. 

Math:  This week we will start topic 11 on geometry.  Due to the few amount of lessons in topic 11, students will have not have a final test on this topic.  There will be a quick check instead in the week of April 13th.  

Students have already started taking timed multiplication tests.  All students have passed their multiplication by 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's, 6's, 7's, 8's, 10's, and 11's test. Some students have passed their multiplication by 12 test and other students still need to pass.  They have 3 minutes to complete 24 problems.  

Spelling:   Due to the shortened week, we will not have spelling.

Reading: We continue our new unit titled Folktales, Fables, & Myths OH MY!!  This week we will read The Mysterious Giant of Barletta. We’ll also be reading The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling as our read-aloud. We will work in our Daily 5 stations on various reading strategies while reading good fit articles and/or books.  Students will continue to work on part/whole analogies.  

English:  Students will write reading responses.
