April 2nd to April 6th

Have a wonderful Spring Break!  School will resume on Tuesday, April 3rd.

There will be PARCC testing April 9th to April 19th. We will be testing Math the first week and ELA the following week. Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a good snack! Chromebooks need to be fully charged every night and ear phones should be brought to school daily! Please check with your child about whether they have headphones at school.

We had a great time at the Shedd Aquarium! Thank you to our parent volunteers!

The Upcoming Week at School: 

Social Science: This week students study the Chicago Fire. They will make a Chicago Fire flip book and write a story about the Chicago Fire from Cow O'Leary's point of view!

Math:  We will continue unit 6 on Multiplication & Division, Data, & Fractions.  We will study Unit 6, module 2 which reviews area and perimeter.  

Spelling: In lieu of spelling, we will continue our study of prefixes and suffixes. Students will have a prefix and suffix quiz on Friday, April 5th. They can use their packet to study.

ELA: We will continue our third and final unit titled, Stand Up for What You Believe In! The students are really enjoying The One and Only Ivan! We will also continue our Daily 5 program. The March reading log will be due on Tuesday, April 3rd.

Things to Remember: 

Tuesday 4/3: The March reading log is due.
Friday 4/6: There will be a prefix/suffix test. 

Monday 4/9 - Thursday 4/12: There is Math PARCC Testing.
Monday 4/16 - Thursday 4/19 There is ELA PARCC Testing.
