The Upcoming Week at School:

Social Science: We have completed all four mysteries in our Mystery Science unit 1 titled, The Power of Flowers. There will be a test on Tuesday, November 21st. There is not a study guide for this test. Students should look over the short assessment pages on the four mysteries, along with their activity pages. They should also study the vocabulary page we completed as a class. Vocabulary is a large portion of the test. The students have been captivated by the videos and activities and if they have been listening, they will do great! I will give students time to study the vocabulary on Monday and we will play a review game. When we return from Thanksgiving Break, we will begin a new Mystery Science unit on weather!

Math:  We will finish the study of unit 3, module 2 on comparing, composing, and decomposing fractions and mixed numbers. Students will take a mixed multiplication test on Wednesday, November 29thThere will be 40 problems with facts ranging from x0 to x9. Students will have 3 minutes to complete the test. Each problem will be worth a half point, totaling 20 points. There will not be retakes. They have received two practice tests.

Spelling: Students should complete 3 activities from their homework sheet and turn them in on Tuesday, November 21st, which is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break.  Some of activities listed cannot be turned in.  Please initial next to the activity name so that I know the activity was completed if needed.  The spelling test will also be on Tuesday, November 21st. Students will receive a new spelling list on Monday, November 27th.

ELA:  We will finish the study of myths while looking at the plot elements: exposition, conflict, rising actions, climax, falling actions, and resolution.
