We had a wonderful time on our Downers Grove field trip! Thank you to the parent chaperones for all of your help! In the top picture, students are standing in front of Pierce Downer's home. Below, the students are pictured in front of Charles Blodgett's home, son of Israel Blodgett.
There are a couple permission slips coming home today: bowling and Drury Lane. Please sign them and send them back to school as soon as you can.
The Sixteenth Week of 2016 at School:
Science: We will focus on social studies this week.
Social Studies: We will finish the study of modern day Downers Grove. Look for a study guide to go home on Monday. The modern day Downers Grove quiz will be on Friday, December 9th.
Math: We will finish the study of unit 3. Students received will receive their study guide on Monday, December 5th. The study guide will be due on Monday, December 12th. The unit 3 test will be on Monday, December 12th as well. Students will take a mixed multiplication test on Friday, December 9th. There will be 40 problems with facts ranging from x0 to x9. Students will have 3 minutes to complete the test.
Spelling: Students should complete 3 activities from their homework sheet and turn them in on Friday, December 16th. Some of activities listed cannot be turned in. Please initial next to the activity name so that I know the activity was completed if needed. The spelling test will also be on Friday, December 16th.
ELA: We'll continue our unit on Culture and Traditions. We will read different types of text about culture. While reading about culture we will discuss main idea and supporting details. Also, students will use text evidence to support their answers to comprehension questions. Last, we will continue Literature Circles with good fit books.

Friday 12/9: There will be a modern day Downers Grove quiz. There will also be a mixed multiplication test.
Monday 12/12: There will be a unit 3 math test. The math study guide is due.
Tuesday 12/13: We will go to Drury Lane to watch A Christmas Carol.
Wednesday 12/14: We will go bowling!
Friday 12/16: There will be a spelling test and the 3 activities are due.
