Social Studies: We will begin the study of Chicago.

Math: This week we will have a "x12" multiplication test on Friday, February 3rd.  This test will only include multiplication problems by 12. It will not have facts from previous weeks.  Students will also have a chapter 21 test on the metric system on Tuesday, January 31st.  Then we will begin the study of geometry in chapter 14.

Also, we are going to do a lot of reviewing. The concepts we are going to review are: main idea and details, genre, and synonyms. Then we are going to pay tribute to Black History Month (February) by reading a biography on an African American and making a photo album displaying four major events in that person's life. This is the "Snapshots of African American History" project we will be working on. The projects will be due on Tuesday, February 7th. I am going to give students class time on Thursday, Friday and Monday to work on this project.
