Miss Pellin's Post
January 25th to January 29th

Next Friday, January 29th will be a class field trip!! This is an "in class" field trip where students will make models of eclipses and craters on the moon. They will even get to taste astronaut ice cream! I wonder if the taste will send us in orbit!

The Fourth Week of 2010 at School:
Science: We will continue our study of solar and lunar eclipses. We will study the phases of the moon. Can you tell me if the moon is waxing or waning?

Students can use their new Science textbook online from the website http://www.thinkcentral.com/to help understand the subject. In order to access the Science textbook at home go to the same website. The user name is your parent connect number. The password is ccsd66.

Social Studies: We will finish our study of culture and Chapter 4. There will not be an overall test on this chapter since we started it before winter break began.

Math: This week we will have a "x8" multiplication test on Friday, January 29th. Students should be studying their "x8" facts every night. We will also begin our study of geometry.

Spelling: There will be a "list #19" Spelling test on Friday, January 29th .

Reading: The class will work on writing an extended response to a question on the book Lost and Found. Students will practice reading different stories and answering multiple choice questions, as well.

English: We will continue the study of adjectives and adverbs.
Things to Remember:
Friday 1/29: We will have a multiplication test and a spelling test. We will also have "in class" field trip!
