April 25th to April 29th

On Friday, April 22nd there will not be school. Please plan accordingly.
Arbor Day is Friday, April 29th. Arbor Day is a nationally-celebrated observance that encourages tree planting and care. A wonderful way to celebrate would be to plant a tree!
We are working on a special project in homeroom. It would be great if you could send in $1.00 with your child by Friday, April 29th to fund the project.
The Fifteenth Week of 2011 at School:
Science: We will continue the study of energy in chapter 12. We will learn how energy can be used. We will take an open book chapter 12 lesson 2 review on Thursday, April 28th.
Social Studies: Now that we've finished up our Chicago unit, we are going to start economy. This is in chapter 9 of our social studies books. The first graded assignment is on Wednesday, April 27th which is a lesson 1 open book review.
Spelling: Unit 22 covers words ending in -er and -le. Homework will be due and there will be a test on Friday, April 29th.
Reading: This week, we will begin our magic unit! Be on the lookout for an invitation coming home for our magic show on Tuesday, May 10th from 8:20 - 9:20.
English: We will continue the study of pronouns in unit 6. There will be a test on Tuesday, May 3rd. Students will also finish their pen pal letters to a second grade student at Elizabeth Ide.
Math: There will be a chapter 23 test on Tuesday, April 26th. We will then begin the study of chapter 17 on alegebra. We will have a division by 6 on Friday, April 29th.

Tuesday 4/26: There will be a math test.
Friday 4/29: There will be a division test. There will be a spelling test.
Tuesday 5/3: There will be an English test.
